Aluminum Construction

  • The OSHA 1910.23 (b)(6) standard requires as follows: “Metal ladders are made with corrosion-resistant material or protected against corrosion.” Aluminum Ladders offer corrosion resistance which means compliance as well as durability. There is no painting or additional process required to reduce corrosion. Ladders made of steel must be galvanized or painted to protect against corrosion. This will mean ongoing regular maintenance is required to ensure compliance.
  • Aluminum is a strong, durable, but lighter metal than steel. This results in far easier handling as well as cutting in the field. In certain applications, the KATTCLIMB® Ladders can be built on the ground and then lifted into position without the requirement for a crane or lift. With steel ladders, a crane or lift would most likely always be required.

Modular kits

  • KATTCLIMB® modular access components are fabricated in modular sections. This allows for construction of endless ladder and access configurations to suit specific site requirements. With pre-welded ladder systems, if there is one measurement that is not correct, it is extremely hard, time intensive and costly to rectify.
  • KATTCLIMB® modular components are kept in stock, ready to ship. The components for your specific configuration are packaged together and can typically be dispatched in a few days or as required. Non-modular ladder systems have a typical lead time of 4 or more weeks.

flat-pack ship

  • KATTCLIMB® Ladder Systems are delivered as a flat-pack kit, which ensures easier handling and significant savings on freight costs. Depending on the size of the ladder and access system, the components can often be man handled to the required location or crane lifted if required. Competitors’ ladders typically ship in large custom-built crates which are costly. The size of these crates typically increases the costs of freight also. Some steel ladders require a dedicated truck for shipping.

COMPETITOR 2 (Metal Ladder Fabricator)

ergonomic rung design

  • KATTCLIMB® Ladders feature a wider ladder body and unique, profiled, non-slip rung design that ensures increased user confidence making it safer and easier to climb. Several aluminum ladder providers use a square rung that results in uncomfortable hand hold. Most steel fabricators use a small diameter round bar that offers no comfort and reduced safety. Several standards require a minimum diameter of 3/4in rungs.

osha and ansi compliant

  • KATTCLIMB® Products are designed and manufactured to meet and exceed OSHA and ANSI regulations as applicable. Most metal fabricators are not well experienced or up to date with the OSHA standards. This can result in non-compliant ladders being fabricated and installed.
